It Takes Guts is a health-focused documentary dedicated to exploring the connections between gut health, the human microbiome, and overall well-being. Through innovative storytelling and personal narratives, It Takes Guts aims to raise awareness, educate, and inspire individuals to take control of their health.
For over four years I travelled the world. Canada, China, Australia, USA, Portugal, Brazil, the UK and Argentina to film patients and doctors who were helping their patients heal with the aid of faecal transplants and more. Amongst other key figures in the film is Martin Blaser, author of Missing Microbes and Alanna Collen, author of Ten Percent Human. A variety of conditions are covered, from Crohns disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Bi Polar disorder, Tourettes syndrome, epilepsy, autism and fibromyalgia.
Soon we will be launching a post production fundraiser so that we can start the process of editing all the stories into a series. Leading the editing efforts is Taimur Khan, a UK-based professional TV and film editor with over 25 years of experience. Taimur has worked on numerous acclaimed projects, and his expertise will ensure that the powerful narratives are brought to life with sensitivity and authenticity. "Editing this documentary is an opportunity to help amplify voices that deserve to be heard," said Khan. "These stories are not just about struggles but also about hope, healing, and the remarkable capacity of the human body to recover."
